The Hammocks on Bald Head Island is located on North Carolina’s southernmost barrier islands. This location is truly a magical setting for a vacation home.

To reach the Hammocks on Bald Head Island one must travel by private boat or 20 minute ferry ride as there are no bridges that connect the island to the mainland. Once on the island, travel is by bicycle or golf cart.

The island itself is comprised of 14 miles of beaches and 10,000 of the total 12,000 acres are set aside as nature preserves made up of salt marshes, beach dunes, and maritime forests.

The Hammocks’ residences overlook the Bald Head Island Club’s 18-hole golf course. Hammocks ownership includes membership in both the golf Club and the Shoals Club, a private beach club that consists of an outdoor pool, dining room, and poolside grill. The Shoals Club provides direct beach access and makes spending a day at the beach very easy with chairs, towels and umbrellas provided.

Our Hammocks residence was athree bedroom with each having its own private bath. The furnishings were wonderful and continued the island theme of comfort and casual.

The Hammocks on Bald Head Island offers an ideal getaway in a setting that is unlike anyother. It is easy to see why people return to Bald Head Island year after year.

Suggestions

The Island has a limited number of dining and retail options however the lack of these establishments adds to the uniqueness of the destination.
